I love what I do and I think it comes through in the quality of food that I serve to my customers.
I grew up in Tulsa, moved away for a short time and then came home. Tulsa is where I choose to raise my two boys, who are learning by doing. The boys are learning customer service, how to sell a product, math skills by running the register and they help with planning, ethics, character, community, shopping and loading the truck and trailer with me.
Throwing yourself into a food truck business is not easy. I have been around long enough to see a lot of food trucks come and go, nothing is guaranteed in this business. A food truck owner, that is also the chef, means you do all the shopping, prep, cooking and serving and in my spare time I take care of the books. It seems like the work never stops but I love what I do! I love that I can teach my children responsibility to their community and to the business. Having your business with your two boys by your side is one of the greatest experiences of my life as a mom.
I take food seriously! If I wouldn't serve something to children, I can guarantee you I will not be serving it to customers. The people I serve get my very best each day. I am obsessed about cleanliness, my trailer and all my equipment is cleaned and taken care of daily. When a customer chooses Hot Mess BBQ they know I will show up and get the job done!
Customers are like family at Hot Mess BBQ. I have seen customers and their families year after year and I am proud of that fact. I have been a part of their celebrations, businesses and meals for years now and I look forward to this business each and every day.
Thank you Tulsa for being so good to me and my boys. We look forward to many more years with our community. ~ Jennifer
